A Familiar Beauty
Marilyn repeats.
A muse stamped into pieces.
Where’s the artist’s voice?
M1ndG4m3s is a messy, emotional, and often funny look at five years of my life through art. The show includes over 50 multimedia pieces that explore love, loss, isolation, creativity, and the strange push and pull of being an artist in a world built on image and ownership.
There’s no clear path through it. The pieces are out of order on purpose, creating a puzzle of memories and meaning that invites viewers to connect the dots themselves. When the show debuted at Hunchback Gallery, it was part art exhibition and part full-blown carnival, complete with games, clowns, and chaos.
Each piece is paired with a short haiku that offers a little clarity inside the confusion. The work is loud, but if you spend some time with it, there’s a lot more going on underneath.
